Bandungan, Semarang – In order to develop the Undip Industrial Engineering curriculum in accordance with the needs of the world of work, an Industrial Engineering alumni user (stakeholder) sharing was held. This sharing is a forum for communication between the Undip Industrial Engineering Department and alumni users (stakeholders). Some of the participating stakeholders include PT. Sango, Indonesia Power, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), and Duta Bangsa University. This alumni user sharing was held on February 9, 2023.
PT. Sango Stakeholders
Hard skills are needed in the production process, teamwork, and organization. Soft skills are an important aspect to have. Soft skills are used to build leadership, responsibility, and concern. Sincerity and kinship are the pillar points of the company. These two pillar points can work well if the soft skills are well prepared. The company transfers and teaches this process from the leadership to the staff and operators who work in it. This process is carried out at every level to prepare the foundation of a more advanced company. So that the company value can be achieved properly.
The focus on achieving the company’s pillar points (sincere and kinship) becomes the culture of the company. So that the loyalty of these workers is built up to tens of years. This cultural achievement is achieved by building internal motivation about empathy and how to communicate it. This empathy is also followed by a form of appreciation. These hard skills and soft skills have become a necessity that cannot be avoided and must be fulfilled. But the most important thing is how to form a superteam. For example filling in the blanks when team members are absent, of course with certain limitations. Building leadership at every level so that you have the courage to make decisions and innovate without having to wait for leaders. Consistent. Collaboration is needed to formulate company needs and how universities prepare.
Indonesia Power Stakeholders
Advances in power generation technology can increase efficiency and reduce production costs. Today’s more advanced power generation technology is accompanied by a long preparation time so that it cannot be used immediately. In contrast, the old power generation technology has a fast preparation time even though the efficiency is lower. The two types of generators are still being collaborated at this time. In the future, power generation technology will lead to EBT. So that Indonesia Power needs graduates who have NRE insight and knowledge.
Another problem that occurs is the over supply of power generation capacity. Oversupply of generating capacity currently encourages people to increase their electricity capacity. This over supply condition is an opportunity for Industrial Engineering graduates. Hard skills regarding optimization are needed from industrial engineering graduates. The scope of this optimization is placement in projects, logistics, and HR.
ITS Stakeholders
Undip Industrial Engineering graduates who are accepted as ITS lecturers are currently going through a long process. In the final stage there are 2 candidates. From two candidates, Industrial Engineering graduates have more knowledge and experience in related fields. In addition, Undip Industrial Engineering graduates have the required soft skills, especially hard work. However, the aspect of writing ability has not appeared.
Duta Bangsa University Stakeholders
Industrial Engineering graduates have the hard skills and soft skills needed by universities. Very good communication skills, able to convey material as expected. There is also a soft skill aspect. As with ITS stakeholders, the aspect of hard work is very prominent in Undip Industrial Engineering graduates. Willing and able to do the assigned task properly.
